Asst. Cross Coach Cassie Stuflick to Take Over as Head Coach Men's, Women's Cross Country Teams

West Burlington, IA – After having Coach Mike Klesner as both her coach and mentor, Assistant Coach Cassie Stuflick will take on the position of head coach for Southeastern Community College's (SCC) Men and Women's Cross Country program for the 2019-2020 season. Coach Stuflick is excited about the opportunity. Klesner will stay on as assistant coach.

"I am honored to become SCC's Cross Country head coach," Stuflick says. "To be a part of building a program is the most exciting thing I can think of as a coach."

SCC just finished the first competitive year of the program under the leadership of Head Coach Mike Klesner and Assistant Coach Cassie Stuflick.

"I hope to build a team that supports each other on and off the course, because your teammates are the ones who know what you're going through day in and day out."

Klesner was Stuflick's coach during her years in high school. Under his direction in 2012, Stuflick became the best cross country runner in the program's history at the Class 2A state championship including three top 10 state finishes and a four-time state qualifier. Stuflick continued on to have a successful career at Clarke University.

Stuflick was recently inducted into the 2019 Danville Athlete Hall of Fame.
