SCC Hires Volleyball Coach
West Burlington, IA- Southeastern Community College has hired Michelle Glass, Boise, Idaho native to lead the Southeastern Community College Volleyball program. Glass, a graduate from Borah High School in Boise, Idaho was a two-sport varsity student-athlete in volleyball and track. In 2017, she was the Head Varsity Volleyball Coach for Canyon Ridge High School in Twin Falls, ID. She also coached Track and Field for Twin Falls High School. In 2013-2014, Glass was a student-coach for the University of Jamestown, North Dakota where the program was NSAA Conference Champions and the program made its first appearance to the NAIA National Championship Tournament. Coach Glass earned a degree in a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with an emphasis in coaching.
SCC Athletic Director Tyler Gaston is excited to bring Michelle on board. "I am excited to welcome Michelle to our team of coaches. I believe in professional women leading and mentoring our female student-athletes. In the interviewing process, it became clear to the interviewing and student-athlete committees that Micki had the knowledge, desire, and leadership abilities necessary to lead our program in the direction we want to go. For me, Micki stood out for her competence, demeanor, and convictions regarding teamwork and success. Additionally, Micki clearly articulated realistic immediate and long term goals that aligned with my vision for our volleyball program. I am extremely satisfied with the result of our search."
Glass will officially start at SCC the beginning of June, but has already been making contacts and identifying prospects for the program.
