Baseball to Hold Winter Break Skills & Evaluation Camps

Justin Schulte – Head Coach

Justin Schulte enters his 21st season as a head coach and 24th season in college baseball. The 2018-2019 season will mark Schulte's 14th season leading the Blackhawks. In his first 20 seasons as a head coach, Schulte has compiled 795 victories – 519 of which have come in his thirteen seasons at Southeastern, the best 13-year run in school history

Schulte came to SCC from Mt. Mercy College where he led the Mustang's to 276 wins in 7 seasons. This is more wins than any 4 year school in Iowa within that time span. While at Mt. Mercy, his team made 6 Regional Tournaments in 7 years and had 7 of the top seasons in school history while breaking numerous school records.

Prior to Mt. Mercy, Schulte was the pitching coach at Southeastern from 1996-1998 and in 1998 the team broke the school record for wins, a record broken in the spring of 2009.

Chris Ramirez-Head Coach University of Illinois Springfield

Chris Ramirez joins the Winter Camp Staff for the 3rd year straight year.  Coach Ramirez is no stranger to Southeast Iowa as he was an All-State Player on the 2000 State Championship team at Fort Madison High School.

Chris started his college coaching career at Southeastern in the fall of 2005 and was the hitting coach for 2 seasons, including the 2007 ICCAC conference championship.

Chris went on to be the recruiting coordinator at NCAA Division 1 Texas A&M Corpus Christi from 2007 to 2103 where the program reached heights never seen before in program history.

In the summer of 2014 Chris took over as the Head Baseball Coach at The University of Illinois Springfield and quickly made the program an annual contender in the NCAA Division 2 Great Lakes Valley Conference.  In 2018 Chris set a school record at UIS with 47 wins winning a conference title and being honored as NCAA Division 2 NATIONAL COACH OF THE YEAR.
