Three Former Blackhawks Selected for World Baseball Classic
BURLINGTON, Iowa — Southeastern Community College Baseball will be represented on the international stage as three former Blackhawks have been selected to compete in the upcoming World Baseball Classic (WBC). Dayson Croes, Ky Hampton, and Pedro Garcia will represent the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Australia, and Colombia, respectively.
The trio continues SCC's tradition of producing talent that competes at the highest levels of the game, both professionally and internationally.

Dayson Croes – Kingdom of the Netherlands
Dayson Croes was a versatile and consistent contributor during his time with the Blackhawks, providing production on both sides of the ball while seeing time at multiple defensive positions. A steady presence in the middle of the lineup, Croes appeared in 100 career games at SCC, posting a .348 career batting average with 91 RBI.
Following his sophomore season, Croes transferred to Quincy University, where he continued his offensive success, hitting over .600 with runners in scoring position. He is currently playing at the Triple-A level in the San Francisco Giants organization.

Ky Hampton – Team Australia
Ky Hampton was a key arm for SCC during the COVID-shortened 2020 season, providing quality innings and demonstrating the ability to compete in high-leverage situations. Hampton made four starts for the Blackhawks, going 2-1 with a 2.00 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP.
After SCC, Hampton continued his career at Eastern Illinois University, helping the Panthers win the Ohio Valley Conference postseason tournament and earn a berth in the NCAA Tournament. He currently pitches for the Adelaide Giants of the Australian Baseball League.

Pedro Garcia – Team Colombia
Pedro Garcia was a mainstay on the mound for the Blackhawks, providing depth and consistency to the SCC pitching staff. Known for his command and competitiveness, Garcia logged 114.2 innings in his Blackhawk career, striking out 155 batters.
Following SCC, Garcia pitched for Georgia Gwinnett College, helping the Grizzlies reach the NAIA World Series. He currently pitches professionally for the Bravos de León of the Mexican League.
